Communicating Consciousness through Clothing

Denver, CO. September 21, 2007- As the Autumn Equinox sets the earth in line with the sun, the season change also marks the preface of an inspiring vision for ultimate awareness with the launch of nin\ether clothing. This premier clothing line will be introduced to the public on Friday October 5 from 8pm to 2am at Vinyl on the Rooftop, located at 1082 Broadway in Denver’s SoCo District. This exciting event is open to the public and admission is $5 before 11pm, $10 thereafter, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the African Well Fund (www.AfricanWellFund.org.)

Designs by Michael Muse and Robbie Maestas adorn basics like tees, tanks and yoga pants. A politically charged piece depicts back-to-back figures—soldier to rebel—armed and blindfolded above the message: eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Other pieces, such as “life music,” feature imagery symbolic of the harmonious union of just that: life and music. Swallows, bare-limbed trees, and other organics seem to explode from the mouth of a graphic sax.

“Our clothes are our medium for spreading a message of kindness, a message of transcendence above all the negative energy in the world. Our clothes will let the people share our message.”

The above statement is taken from the company’s mantra, which affirms nin\ether’s commitment to communicating a vision of conscious living. The premier line of clothing was created in true mindfulness of the nine superior levels of human consciousness: courage, neutrality, willingness, acceptance, reason, love, joy, peace, and enlightenment. Each level holds distinctive significance in achieving superior consciousness, reflected in the company’s logo as a repetition of the circle, symbol of life. Ether is derivative of the Greek word aether, meaning “upper air,” or “pure, fresh air,” thought to be necessary as a transmission medium to propagate energy waves.

All tees and tanks currently exhibit designs screen-printed on American Apparel and Alternative Apparel garments. Within the yoga line, nin\ether clothing includes yoga pants made from 100% organic cotton, which they intend to integrate as their primary choice of fabric. This selection follows suite in revealing their values as a life-conscious company.

The nin\ether clothing launch party will feature The Charles Cooper Quartet: hip hop/ jazz musicians from Columbus, Ohio, as well as Pete Moss spinning house. Additional top artists have signed on to help promote the message of mindfulness, including DJ Ben A, with Cheech on the Congas, DJ Mu$a, and spoken word by Denver poet, Isis. The event is anticipated to be the spark that will ignite inspiration in all to move forward with fashion, in aspiration of enlightenment.
